Zenath Engineering Services LLC (HDD Division)
Zenath Environmental Engineering Services initiated the HDD Technology in Dubai in the year 2004. With ISO 9001 certification, this division is one of the biggest HDD contractors in the Middle East having a fleet of 11 rigs in the medium rig classification.
The innovative technology is of great use for the utility industry including oil, gas, water, telecom and electrical underground network.
HDD is an eco-friendly and economical process which is used to install pipes and cables through a horizontal drilling process. The benefits are that it avoids open cuts along highways, rivers and streams and other environmentally sensitive areas. Flora and roots are safe from destruction, there is absolutely no noise, no ripping of streets, no backfill and no traffic disruption. In addition, the cost incurred in installation is very competitive. At present, Zenath is developing a mega rig with American Augers DD 1100 Spread for drilling 1800-2500 metres in one drill in Saudi Arabia, UAE and India.
HDD has been used successfully for the trench-less installation of supply and waste disposal pipes in a wide range of different sizes. Its technical and economical benefits have gained increasing acceptance and importance and are still rising in stature. HDD is also increasingly being used in environmental and geotechnical engineering such as for the installation of horizontal filter wells, investigation of polluted sites and for recovery of old cables.
The division is backed by a trained technical team to execute projects such as small road crossings for cables, fresh water pipes and gas and large diameter river and channel crossings. It has the experience to pull a maximum diameter of 1,800 mm steel pipe for river crossings.

Water Treatment Division - Projects:
Water scarcity is a global issue and to overcome this shortage, water treatment and recycling is the best answer. Hence, the most advanced and accepted technology is used to test, purify and recycle water for reuse. Zenath Environmental Engineering Services has a technology agreement with Sekisui Chemical Ltd of Japan, a world renowned manufacturing and proficient developer of the SIVAC Vacuum Sewer System for the UAE and other Middle East countries.
The division provides a wide range of equipment, systems and services related to water and wastewater treatment. The company has a licensing arrangement with EEC, USA, for package wastewater treatment systems covering the GCC countries and northern Africa. It represents a number of reputed German manufacturers with equipment for large sewage treatment plants in the UAE. It also manufactures and supplies custom-designed RO plants for converting sea water and brackish water into drinking water and wastewater treatment plants for ready-mix concrete plants.
Package wastewater treatment plants, under license from EEC, USA, are designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Zenath Environmental Engineering Services for treating domestic and industrial wastewater. The high-speed biotech plants are compact and are either containerized or mounted on trailers, thus making them portable and allowing them to be shifted after use from one site to another, if required.
The German equipment range, represented and sold by the company, includes wastewater treatment equipment used in large city sewage treatment plants, including mechanical screens, grit removal systems, air blowers, air diffusers, odour control systems, GRP covers and sludge treatment systems.
RO plants are designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by the company for treating sea water and brackish water to make them potable. Wastewater treatment plants for ready-mix concrete projects are also manufactured and supplied by the company.

Water Treatment Division - Trading:
The objective of the division is to offer clients and contractors in the UAE a wide range of world-class wastewater treatment equipment manufactured by renowned suppliers around the world.
The principals that the division represents in UAE are Passavant-Geiger, Supratec, Europlast, Likusta, AWAS, Donau Carbon (Germany) and Eimco (UK/USA).
The division has bagged prestigious orders for supply of equipment to sewage treatment projects at Al Aweer (Mass Leader/Dubai Municipality), Ras Al Khaima (RAK PWSD), Al Quaa (Metito) and Al Ain (Veolia).
Vacuum Sewerage System:
Vacuum sewers were first used in Europe in 1882. However, it has been only in the last 30 years that vacuum transport has been utilized in the United States. During this time, the use and acceptance of vacuum sewers have expanded greatly. As the industry leader Zenath has tied up with Sivac Vacuum Sewer system which is one of a wastewater collection system developed by SEKISUI Chemicals Co. Ltd. Japan.
SIVAC vacuum sewer system can be applied effectively in most areas, with less initial and life cycle cost and lower global warming gas emissions than gravity sewer system. The Sivac Vacuum Sewer System being a wastewater collection system can be utilized in urban, residential, agricultural and fishery housing areas and resort and recreational areas where the topography is flat and there is high water table and/or soft ground conditions.
Features of SIVAC vacuum sewer system:
- SIVAC vacuum sewer system have been planned to construct not only less initial cost but less life-cycle cost estimations compared to conventional gravity and other alternative sewer system facilities.
- No occur of wastewater infiltration from parts of pipe joint to under the ground because of the usually maintaining negative pressure in the sewer lines.
- The system used to collect the sewage water with air (ratio between 1:3 to 8). So, the aeration in the pipe line allows certain percentage of sewage water purification process happen during collection itself.
- The terms of the constructing works in site are very short in comparison with those of conventional gravity sewer system. Because the trenching is narrow and shallow.
- Small diameter (75-250 mm) Polyethrene (PE) pipes with the electro-fusion (EF) joints have usually been applied as better material for their pipelines.
- The PE pipes used in the system are not rigid and flexible can withstand earth-quake.
- The pipe lines are composed a combination of a long straight downgrade and a short upgrade lines.
- The waste water can be lifted gradually up to 2.5 m from the starting level without lifting pumps.
- An electrical source is only required in SIVAC vacuum stations for driving the vacuum and the sewage pumps.
- Operational troubles and mechanical and electrical accidents happened suddenly in SIVAC vacuum stations can be monitored immediately and notified.
Zenath can also offer new developed and improved technologies and their tools for the vacuum sewer clients.
